The "ribs" serve as some sort of advanced radiation shielding/power collection method, while the core is the "heart" of the "dragon"

@Monarchii yep, The rear is for like close air defence and then the front main battery would be for head on assaults

exposed reactor is a good idea.. maybe two different turrets on each end where forward is slow velocity powerful gun while rearward is fast firing high velocity small gun?
