[Monarchii War] Day 1 - Attack the S Point!

71.3k TheUltimatePlaneLover  10 months ago

Day 1 of the Monarchii war has begun!

Here's your news update, believe me, today our news is chonky
100% Unbiased

Today's slogan? Attack the S Point!
And by S, we mean Snowstone. The MGLA forces have (mostly) temporarily retreated from Wright. A few CrestelAeronautics aircraft have been committing some strikes there, though.

Ditto, different angle

However, Snowstone has been getting bombarded. Remember when we said that it may have not been the wisest idea for the MGLA to start small? Well, they heard us, and they took our advice.

Early in the morning of today, several vintage B-984 Fearsome bombers lent by the RED team dropped off several modified M49A3 Shock Main Battle Tanks onto the island of Snowstone. The M49s would take the ground, by storm, but would meet surprising amounts of resistance, being that Monarchii as of yet has no tanks.

Although these tanks are the premiere of the ground forces, with Crestel, Mousewithamachinegun122, and Monarchii not having tanks (yet), they still haven't proven invincible, being damaged and even destroyed on several fronts, most of which were knocked out by airstrikes, or even long-range missiles from the Ice Base. However, these tanks are still the MGLA's best hope of winning the ground game aside from CAS. To make matters even more serious for the M49s, the last M-32 on Snowstone, which was previously trapped due to its drive system, was found destroyed where it last stood, meaning that for now, the Shock MBT will have to fight the fierce artillery of Monarchii on their own.

Surprisingly, the tank continued to function and operate despite such a crucial loss, and survived until it lost balance on a hill and fell into the waters of Snowstone. Thankfully, the crew managed to avoid drowning and are to be taken back to home base to assess other injury or possible illness caused by the freezing water.

Now, shifting our attention to the skies, absolute chaos is what shall meet your eyes. Several aircraft from all sides of the war have made their debut at the Snowstone Siege, and as one would expect, several losses with them.
For one, the DA Flying Wing aircraft, despite intended to be a bomber, so far they've only done recon missions, and have been quite bad at them. Little info was obtained, meanwhile several of the aircraft were destroyed, such as this one obliterated by naval fire from Monarchii's warships.

One of six TUPL Flying Wings destroyed

The MGLA have taken other losses as well, including 3 Su-78 Formers, 1 A-45 Viper, and 18 "Super Bomber" aircraft. It was also believed that a PF-19 and a P-10B had been downed, but it would turn out that the P-10B has not yet arrived at Snowstone, meanwhile the PF-19 has not and may never see combat here.

A Skywolf 3.0 watches as an A-45 Viper goes down in flames.

A Super Bomber goes down while in formation with two others.

However, Monarchii's aircraft haven't quite been unstoppable either. Several MiG-125s were downed today, but surprisingly were able to protect their pilots from harm.

Ditto, from the driver view

The real action begins at the Ice Base. Proving both a critical Airfield (just ignore Avalanche Airport) and a devastating weapons juncture. As such, it has been the second biggest target of Snowstone, second only to enemy aircraft. It has been hit, damaged, and repaired several times, but now the MGLA is making an attempt to completely destroy it.

An F-11Y3 attempts to fight to Monarchii Fulcrums

The Flying T-34 leads a practice convoy of F-11Y3s near the Ice Base, in similar manner to the mockery Touch-and-Gos done on Day 0, but on a much larger scale- officials say that 22 Draconians were deployed for this Elephant Walk, but only 21 can be seen since one of them broke off to fight some nearby enemy aircraft, as shown in the previous picture.

And ending our news for today, an update on the B-29 status. Several attempts to move it were made, several using the plow-modded M49A3s, one with an A-40, and one with three F-11Y3 tugboats. Almost unsurprisingly, none of these worked. The F-11Y3s didn't provide enough lift to get the B-29 in the air, the A-40 flipped over and survived only because of its slow speed and massive durability, and the M49A3s literally destroyed half of their front end trying to move the Superfortress. Eventually though, the MGLA made the choice to just use one of the B-984s to raise the B-29, and this surprisingly worked. The demilitarized Fearsome was successfully able to extract the B-29 from Snowstone. The Ice Base attempted to shoot down to bombers, but the B-984 (somehow) outmaneuvered the missiles, and is returning to friendly territory where the B-29 will be repaired.

The B-984 triumphantly circles Snowstone after evading missiles to successfully claim the abandoned B-29 for the MGLA

That's all the news for today! Check back in tomorrow for the next news update! Farewell and stay safe out there!

Sorry for ping but I'm just gonna be honest, this one goes hard when you look at how things started VS how they are, especially in the case of Flying T-34/Takusha

@CrestelAeronautics Yes, I'm working on day 2 right now... what do you think of your TVT-100s and NVN-100s being airdropped from bombers with 395ft wingspan?
