Before the airliner called Vías Aéreas de Coclé, was called VIAECP

in 1971. A VICSA Douglas DC-6B Disintegrated in the air by a Strong storm in Bocas de Toro after covering the Río Hato-San José route. One person fortunately survived, although a year later he died of skin cancer. This event almost caused the company to go bankrupt, but due to the U.S. invasion of Panama, it had to suspend its flights until the war ended.

In 1992, the airline purchased 71 Airbus A310s. To cover the routes of Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, and Rome via Barcelona, taking off from Tocumen. As I said earlier, it's secondary hub. Today, Due to an A310 that protruded from the runway in 2023, the airline almost went bankrupt like the other time in 1971 with the Douglas, the airline continues to operate today, but is almost forgotten.
