I keep seeing low part planes everywhere what’s the deal with that? I can understand building those like 5 years ago but now even the weakest iPhone can run this game with ease. Low key I’m just missing the days where wizard, Mister T, papachulio, or some other crazy veteran player would create an insanely epic craft that your device could barely run but it was still fun cause of how cool it was.

Many reasons, for me personally it's because it's fun to make them, but also because it kills time provided that you have to put genuine effort into them.
For example,
here's a normal ^actually cursed aircraft that just doesn't have a lot of parts. Although it meets the PEA threshold at 96 parts, this is not a PEA.
On the other hand, here's a nice-looking replica that uses less than 8 wing parts and 96 or less parts. Along with quality and effort in spite of part counts, all PEAs are replicas, usually of real aircraft, but I did see at least one Ace Combat replica.

Low parts also means you can spawn more of them at the same time without lagging as much
