I got a small question

60.3k PapaKernels  7 months ago

So I was just thinking about this, what's a car that you see alot in your area that other people might never see or is extremely rare to them.
Just something I was thinking about. For me it's any American truck you can think of in any condition weather it's a small truck or a big rig, we just seem to have everything. That and steam tractors, got alot of them, even a town over has a steam tractor show every year.

@TalonTheCRTguy cool on the challengers. Yea I think there was a kid at my high school who drove an old 60s challenger, either that or it was a Plymouth of some sort. And that's shocking you haven't seen a civic. There's so many around here. Every kid just learning to drive seems to pick one up. That or miatas or golfs lol

Probably challengers I know most places people see challengers but my local challengers actually meet up at a local restaurant and they also have dodge rams and chargers there too! Mostly happens during June

@32 I mean some of them are ok, I like the older hatches but there's so many and they think they're hot shit and all that so lol. I prolly won't have room to talk once I put the exhaust I want on my truck but still lol

@PapaKernels I mean, I think they’re nice, they look pretty good and all, but I agree that there are so many cars I’d rather have for that price.

JDM vehicles, I see R32s EVERYWHERE in my area. It's a virus. A very good virus, but a virus nonetheless.

@PapaKernels tbf if they wanted to use them for actual offroading then sure, i do see why they could be great at that, unless if someone used hummers as flexmobiles that is to show off their fragile egos.

@DatFiat126Guy19 I mean they're good little rigs man, some people like a road queen and others actually wanted to use em as intended. If your willing to spend the 100k it's a good suv

@32 yooo same around here too. My thought is your spending 100k on a truck and you get a rivian? And wow, my grandma use to work for a hummer dealership so I grew up around them. Pretty sick rigs

@32 whoever is at gm thinking that a hummer of all things should also be available to regular people still dumbfounded me, although to be fair im an Indonesian so... all of this stuff that you guys had in the states still surprised me, to this day infact lmfao

@DatFiat126Guy19 lmao, yep. Tbh a good reason I don't like driving, apart from my massive anxiety but we don't talk about that lol

Electric cars are weirdly popular in my part of kentucky, I see Rivians all the time. Teslas are super common and my sister's friend even has a video of a cybertruck downtown. Craziest thing I've seen is a Hummer H3.

@PapaKernels glad you're aware of that lol, and honestly, whoever thinks that increasing taxes on imported cars, including better ones needs to be slapped in the face imo

@DatFiat126Guy19 yea with how our emissions regulations are its cheaper to just make the cars bigger than actually put heavier emission reducing devices on the cars. And yea, US doesn't have the best drivers in the world lol. There is also import laws on cars so if it falls in a certain class it's got a much higher tax so thats why we don't have the hilux too

@PapaKernels that's unfortunate, but i mean... you guys have a crap ton of giant suvs, some barreling down the streets at 70+ mph with no regard for anyone while also acting like they own the road so... i guess i shouldn't be surprised that more compact pickup/van like the l300 and carry's were not available over at the states lmao
