I'm Back! Once more for another log, and we are here to talk about the upcoming additions, features, and a brand new category for M.B.S. v1.2!
As always, this log is divided to chapters and units, so you can skip to the stuff you want...
I. Sky Watchers
The brand new SPAA Category is now coming in M.B.S v1.2! Allowing you to destroy your enemies as ground units and watch them caught fire and plummet to the ground or sea!
A. The Watchers
On release of v1.2, three (3) SPAA units will be available for download...
1. General Electric M163 VADS
2. General Motors LAV-AD (Will have two (2) Modifications)
3. Mitsubishi Type 83
B. Behind the Armor
As like how War Thunder works, they will have armor thickness but it the form of health points, so more like "World Of Tanks" each SPAA with have different armor thickness and it will depend on location, front armor being the strongest and so on and so forth...
All health points will be based on this forum post made by Wernster
https://www.simpleplanes.com/Forums/View/1362513/Tank-vehicle-damage-model-tutorial
All around armor thickness will be based on the War Thunder Wiki
Weapons damage will be based on the Weapon Balancing Database made by ReinMcDeer
https://www.simpleplanes.com/u/ReinMcDeer
And Weapons performance like fire rate and muzzle velocity will be based on Wikipedia.
II. I Need Guidance!
SPAA will have very unique guidance modes for SPAAGs, below are the different guidance modes that will be available
A. Self-Propelled Guidance (SLPG)
Players can press AG1 and AG2 together to activate Self-Propelled Guidance.
As the mode suggests, it will let the funky tree do all the aiming for you, just select a target and just press the fire button.
But don't be very confident, it's sometimes not accurate at aiming
B. Semi-Propelled Guidance (SMPG)
Switch to "Aiming View" and activating AG1 will activate Semi-Propelled Guidance
This allows Players to aim at the target will control via panning the camera but with assistance of funky trees which can help with aiming
C. Manual Guidance (MNLG)
Switch to "Aiming View" without activating any of the AGs mentioned will allow you to have full control of aiming via panning the camera.
Notes:
- Only SPAAGs will have all these modes, Missile SPAAGs will only have Manual Guidance due to them being locking dependant
- You can use any third party crosshair app for improved accuracy
