I've always liked German tanks because they're (arguably) simple to make, especially the turrets, it's usually just paneled which I like, but I'm getting bored of it. So I would like to know how to make Western style tank hulls and turret as they're cast and have a rounded shape.
Any [helpful] comment is appreciated.
@Sakorsky no prob
@TheUltimatePlaneLover uh thank you
@Sakorsky As for the rotator, you could either use Trim/VTOL to your preference, or you could go into the XML Editor/Overload and switch its input to
sum(Roll)
orsum(Yaw)
, again depending on your preference. As for the turret, like I said, the base should be mostly round, but you can add details like armor and angled stuff if you feel like it. Here's some tanks with the round-ish turret design:Mouse Thunder (removing the box on the back of the turret basically turns it into a wide T-55
Goober M-60 Patton (it's OK but it needs some work)
Centurion tank (probably one of the best examples here since it's from the exact time period and region that you prefer)
M4A3 Sherman (it's a round turret, that's for sure)
@TheUltimatePlaneLover yes, now how to make the turrets
@Sakorsky Well, if we're talking about early Cold War tanks, a recommend a few of these things:
-Relatively simple armor, such as just brute-force armor.
-External fuel barrels, they were popular on those tanks (take the T-34 or T-59 for specific example)
-Very round-ish (e.g. T-55, M48, A41, to a degree the Leopard 1)
-More specifically from earlier, no ERA (explosive reactive armor)
-Relatively simple tech I think? (relatively, not like WWII era)
@TheUltimatePlaneLover early cold war ish
Well it depends, what era? (era as in time in history, not Explosive Reactive Armor)
Oh hell no I'm a horrible builder.
Good luck, though.
Also, @SILVERPANZER
@Graingy so do you know how to make them atleast
Ah, yes. Those do not look easy.
@Graingy yes M48s and M60s, basically rounded designs. I suck at them.
You mean Eastern?
Or are you meaning to say like the M48 and M60? Because Germany is generally considered Western afaik.
