I use steam to upload images now, as you can upload screenshots without having to do any file work and you can upload images from stuff that aren't games / are not screenshots to the steam artwork
it supports gifs

I would use the ![]() method (link to gif goes in the ())

I don't know how to makes gifs though so that may or may not work ;-;

only gifs, no uncompressed or normal video files.

You can put .GIF files into some image hosting sites.
