Hey, weird problem that I just started having after switching to a new computer...
When I try to nudge a part, there is a long delay then the part moves in whichever direction I chose at a million miles per hour. This is super annoying as holding WASD to move a part becomes impossible, and pressing the key over and over again is the only way to accurately move something a small distance.
If it is relevant, scrolling the menus with my mouse wheel is also way, way faster (almost unusably so)
My keyboard settings are identical to my old computer. The only thing I changed in game settings are graphics and some basic key mapping. My physical mouse and keyboard are the exact same as well.
Anyone have this problem as well? And if so, do you have a fix?
Thanks
For anyone with this problem, capping FPS in your graphics control panel fixes the problem completely. Thanks jamesPLANESii for the fix!
Nudging is FPS based, so I assume you got a higher FPS monitor and more powerful computer or something and that's causing it to go haywire.
@NordicTuna Ohh, I read your reply now. Maybe you replied to rexzion instead of me?
The delay is shorter because you have a better computer and therefore run SP faster. That's literally it. If you download a more complex build, you should observe the delay being longer. By default, the delay is very short.
I had never knew this was a thing, but, it made sense Ig
wait there was a shortcut for nudging :|
I aleays clicked using the menu
I have not changed that setting from default. Besides, my problem is not with the actual distance per nudge, (this is the same as it was before so long as I press the key only once), but rather the frequency of nudges (really, really fast a delay after I hold down a key). Thanks for the comment regardless.
You can open the nudge panel and adjust the nudge amount.
@NordicTuna its just weird because there was no update to sp at that time
@rexzion Hmm, I tried uninstalling all my mods after reading your comment, but unfortunately the issue persists... I am honestly not even sure if the problem is due to me using a new computer, it looks like you started getting issues around the same time I got my new computer, so it is probably coincidence!
I have these exact issues too, they started appearing a month ago, and my best guess is it is probably caused by a mod I installed. But if you have it after just switching to a new computer then i have no idea
