Hello everyone, here is an update on my IAR-80
I have finished making most of the instruments, I know these may look like the default gauges at first but upon taking a closer look, you will see they are all customised to be as true to their real counterpart as the game will allow.
Most of them work, and in the final version of this plane they will all work.
I think the engine temperature gauge(found to the left of the altitude gauge), is particularly interesting, especially given the fact that the sp game physics do not take engine heat into consideration.
Running the engine on full power continuously
will cause an overheat, any value above 90°C is considered overheat, running it on a medium throttle setting or opening the cowl flaps(which are simulated as well) will help it cool down.( You may be wondering what kind of funky trees magic is this but in fact it's just two rotators)
You can entirely ignore this feature and gun the engine to 100% all the time or you could keep your eye on it and use the throttle conservatively as you would do in a real plane or in a more advanced simulator.
I do not intend to make the engine react to overheating in any way not only because that would be hard for me to do but also because it would handicap this plane compared to the other planes on this site which do not have this limitation, thus decreasing accessibility. I think having to watch your propeller pitch is already hardcore enough.
Thank you for reading, any suggestions or criticisms are welcome!
The build is nearing 900 parts and it's getting harder and harder for my weak laptop to run it.
That being said, I am looking for testers!
Let me know if you are willing to closely follow thus project and offer feedback in regards to it's performance, you will be credited when the plane is finally published!
@Rodrigo110 thank you! I will make sure to tag you when this gets published
This looks incredible! T
