The Great Pyrenees is a watchdog. Not ideal for family. Have you ever heard of Casper? He is a Great Pyrenees that took on and hunted down 11 coyotes whilst defending a flock of sheep. Casper killed 8 coyotes and seriously injured the others over a span of a few days. Look him up.

Just note a family dog won’t do that, a dog bred for that will do it. Such as a guard dog or hunting dog like a bloodhound. You clearly don’t know what a family dog would be. Luckily I do know a way to stop a dog but it's best done with gloves for things larger then a puppy basically grab the bottom jaw and try to force it back maybe into a hole or something to temporarily stop it which this trick helped me a couple times
