In 1985 The Congo gained it's independence from Belgium and allied with Russia and started stockpiling old planes, and untill 1990 they were unmatched in the skies

In 1985 The Congo bought 500 MiG-17s outfitted with bombs to destroy ground targets but was retired in 1986 after the first attack on the Guinean feild "Base Militar AI"
MiG-19
The MiG-19 was used to cover the MiG-17s on ground attacks, they destroyed many scouts before the Corb MK-2 entered Service
MiG-19B
A MiG-19 outfitted with Bombs this was the only Plane to damage the Guinean Carrier Tauró balena and even tore the flight deck apart
MiG-21S
The MiG-21S was the First Air Superiority fighter bought in December 1985 it was not as wide used in the beginning stages of the war as the MiG-19
MiG-21SB
Made to replace the Aging MiG-19B it was very useful for destroying older planes but struggled against ull d'àguilas and lleopards after 1989.
MiG-25
The last plane bought by The Congo it was first used in Very Early 1987 and became the last used fighter in the First Guinea-Congo war
