this is real, i also encountered this myself way way back

i froget what exactly but it involves the scrunkly pyramid at maywar and some kinda message, the sstv image iirc generated is some kinda diagram with the pyramid, somebody else solved it much later

edit: found the image, no pyramid but the kraken link
