So somehow my parents have found a speaker in their rooms air vent, the thing looks new but it is covered in paint as my house was painted a while ago. We are renters as well.
I tried to search up why, the few instances I saw online also nobody had a clue. Does anybody here have any idea why it was up there?
I’m currently opening the thing up as I had that gut feeling that something was inside.

It might be not your ordinary speaker, maybe its a hidden camera
