So I've never used SimplePlanes in VR before, and I wanna know if VR friendly Yaw controls can be implemented. Ideally, without needing to physically move or grab some control in the cockpit with your hand sticks, but even if not then I'm open to suggestions.
Does SimplePlanes VR have yaw support by default, just on the hand sticks? Like a button or something that isn't necessarily viewable in game, but is otherwise useable and controllable?
I'm sure there's probably some convoluted and lengthy way of setting up actual yaw pedals and linking them to your headset, so you can actually yaw irl and have it properly control the yaw of whatever aircraft you're flying in VR, but not everyone has the time or money for that, of course. I certainly don't.
Many thanks in advance, to anyone who responds to help!
I have it. You move your left thumbstick left or right, so no in-game stuff is needed. My stick drift is really bad though so often I’ll make an unlisted version with a joystick that twists for my yaw.
@TheMouse Well...
@Graingy
Exactly.
Speaking of which, have I ever railed the rhythm of conversation?
@TheMouse A nonsensical one, for the topic was aircraft yaw.
A fool you are, rodent, for you have derailed the rhythm of conversation.
@Graingy
You said “you up twisting your stick”
There are three directions I could go with that comment. I chose this one.
@TheMouse What does this have to do with transmissions?
I thought we were talking about yaw/steering?
@Graingy
brrrrrrrrr
@TheMouse I am deeply confounded.
@Graingy
Stick shift go brrrrrr.
@TheMouse Pardon?
@Graingy
I have heard of push down reverse, pull up reverse, and all the way to the right for reverse, but never twist. How do you even get the transmission to register that?
@TheMouse You up twisting your stick?
@IceCraftGaming yes I do the same thing.
Really wasn't sure so I just made it so that the the left joystick (that controls throttle) controls yaw by tilting it side to side
STINGRAY
I think they use joysticks on the oculus.
@overlord5453
If thats correct, they just twist their hand.
@TheMouse he wants to know how VR players use yaw.
Generally I just use the control base, and set it to 3 way instead of two, which makes it so yaw is twisting the stick, moving the stick causes pitch and roll.
Not entirely sure what you are asking though.
I just assumed they had pedals for that
