Does anyone have any FT code for auto trim?

18.8k MosquitowithaMachineGun  3 months ago

I really need it for a plane I'm making.
Another thing, when pulling up or pulling high Gs, the missiles in the missile bay come out of the missile bay[solved].
Help please.
Oh yeah I tried to take code from other planes but that didn't help at all.

@overlord5453 I posted the jet that I needed help with, all I had to do was put weight on the nose.

@Mosquitowithagun i use postimages. It doesn't need an account to use. But it's banned in some countries, don't know which ones.

@overlord5453 I uploaded the finished delta wing version. It was inspired by another jet concept. Do you know any image hosting sites that I could use to display the image?

@Mosquitowithagun keep testing. You will eventually find something that works.

@overlord5453 true, once the aircraft reaches 551 MPH TAS that's when the pitching problems first appear.

@Mosquitowithagun the com and col position really affects a planes performance. Speed also has an effect on this.

@overlord5453 I do that, I did make a delta wing version but it's not as accurate as I wanted it to be from the actual design concept. Yet the delta wing does stabilize it.
    The input was Pitch0.2625 + Trim0.125

@Mosquitowithagun i didn't understand. The trim over corrects the pitch? If so try this Trim * 0 5. This limits the trim control to half and you still have the whole slider to work with. Change 0.5 to a lower higher number depending on what you want. If it's for elevator controls (this time i am sure) put a Pitch + or - before it. You can add roll to. So it will look like this, Pitch + Roll + Trim * 0.5. Change the + sign with - if the output is inverted. You can do the same with pitch and roll too if you feel like their deflection angle is too much or limit it from overload menu.

Which is why I need auto trim, since that finds the perfect amount of trim

@overlord5453 the trim makes it worse..
You can put it up a entire notch, that'll work a little bit, but any further and the plane just goes nose down completely.

@Mosquitowithagun uhh. Well either way, you need trim to fix it. Glad I could help (atleast partially)

Let me guess, your aircraft is nose heavy and it keeps pitching down. Unfortunately I don't know much of funky trees. About the missiles, try increasing the mass scale of the part it's connected to.
