Say you’re in public. Could be work, school, a coffee shop, a park, anything. You look around and you see on someone else’s screen that they’re on this site. On top of that, you can make out and recognize either their name, profile picture, or both.
What would you do in that situation? Anything? Would you greet them? Be crushed under the curse of knowledge? Try to blackmail them?
What if you were the one spotted? This, of course, is under the assumption that you are either approached and informed in-person, or, much creepier, over the site (which is much more conductive to blackmail, I reckon).
I made a forum some time ago asking whether you already knew anyone. By the looks of things, many were not enamoured by the concept of meeting another SP player. I can definitely understand that.
@Ashdenpaw1 That won't stop you from making like a tree!
@Graingy
yeah I don't bark.
@Ashdenpaw1 Lead like that and you'd be the one getting threatened.
I would bark and growl at them (threaten them with a deadly weapon)
@Graingy On it!
@F16xl No, follow them IRL.
@Graingy in that case I’d be scared lol
Mostly act causally when bringing up the topic if it was a complete stranger, then agree to follow them in SP not IRL
Bite them.
Ok but actually, me seeing their account via their screen, It would depends who. For example, if it was a good friend I made in this community, I'd say something like "hey its me the mosquito with a gun!" Or something awkward like that, depends on the environment really too.. if it was at school I'd probably say something, at a park, dead silence and walk away.
@TheUltimatePlaneLover Unless in the final scenario, in which case you have nothing on them and them everything on you.
@Graingy Ah I see
But I’ll at least know what they look like, otherwise I can’t recognize them
@TheUltimatePlaneLover there's a difference between knowing someone through a screen, and having someone know what you look like and the city/town in which you live, or more. And age. Many here keep their age to their chests.
My first response is to act natural
Pretty much everyone I know is a friend of mine, except for a few people who probably don't know who I am back (e.g. inactive players), so there really is nothing to worry about.
@FlirBlitz Not inside
@AWESOMENESS360
There are, like, two somewhat active people with more points than you.
@StockPlanesRemastered wdym same last name?
@SILVERPANZER that mentality is keeping you down
what's outside bro
but to meet someone irl you have to go outside
@Dragoranos Thank you, but I don't know the reasons why I should like myself.
The problem is that when you swim against the current, it is difficult and over time you will get tired and drown.
@Dragoranos I think the time has come, I began to look and evaluate differently.
I used to think that I was a mid-level player, but now I feel worse about myself.
Idk, unless they knew it was I, AWESOMENESS360 of SimplePlanes, and I knew who they were on the website too, it might just be awkward or weird. If it was some random smaller user that just likes what I do or thinks it's cool to see me irl (who would ever lmao), then I guess it'd be less awkward, I feel like it would almost be worse if I was met by another platinum user with a high point count, then it might turn into some kind of "everything you can do I can do better" type of interaction and nobody needs that, I know I don't.
_
Maybe if we were friends on the website and interacted regularly it'd be fun, I do occasionally wonder what some of y'all higher users are actually doing with your lives aside from SimplePlanes.
@Graingy some guy with the same irl last name was selling all his stuff on the Facebook market place to make money either because he needed it for medical or because he couldn't work anymore. At the same time Bogdanx announced he was sick, and later deleted his account
Murder.
Jk, idk. Most likely not going to say anything
@StockPlanesRemastered I- how would you ever learn that?!
