On my absence

For the few, if any, who have bothered to keep up, I have been away for almost three weeks.

To keep a very long story short, NEVER find yourself in the Soian Gutter.

EVER.

    @Boeing727200F Never trust Soians.
    Not that they're necessarily especially malicious, but they place little regard for the lives of lesser beings.

    @Boeing727200F Upon consulting an MA unit, you seem to have trapped yourself in pocket dimension of your home universe?
    How on earth did you do that?

    @YarisSedan Probably, and probably not.
    I don’t have the clearance (or the comprehension ability for that much data) to get much more, while the lack of information limits our potential actions to fix the issue.

    @Graingy i don't know if it's just me but, i have a feeling that that MS unit probably knows more than he's letting on, probably for the better honestly.

    @Boeing727200F I meant Soian sponsor. There's jack a normal organization could do here.
    Your best chances would come from an MS-S2. They're about ~150cm tall and have both the ability and the authority to send you there, along with typically having a less serious attitude. They're vulnerable against the heavy hitters (primarily PA-002, who hunts Soian personnel and equipment), so they place less importance in their eternally threatened lives.
    I cannot remember the one Mckenzie crushes over... oh, right, 039!
    They're your best bet. Unfortunately for you, MS units aren't very visually distinct like 99% of the time, especially between marks.

    @YarisSedan Couldn't tell you. The circumstances of destabilization are incredible varied. Some things always return to the same universe, sometimes the same absolute coordinates (what form of coordinates can, obviously, change. If you're thinking purely spatially in one universe you are not cut out for anything to do with Soia). Others, such as Cursed Ivanovich, tend to stick locally. Cursed Ivanovich himself seems to have a destabilizing effect on a certain class of relevant information (specifically other Ivanoviches in their minimultiverse), however the overall situation with the Ivanoviches is incredible unique, even in the Greater Multiverse.
    Many are entirely random. And by random, I mean getting sent to universes consisting of, say, one singular atom for the entirety of its dimensions. Many universes have different sets of physics. Information with that unstable attribute does not last long.
    I will assume you're never thinking about this in an abstract enough sense, unfortunately. It's... not easy to explain.
    The universe you ended up in could be THE universe you end up in, or it could just be a one-off visit to an unremarkable realm. MS-086 didn't tell me much...

    @Graingy ok well
    i am my own sponsor (North American Aviation, SUA, North American Transportation Corp) and im sure the government has given us some random thingy that might be able to skip multiple steps in getting in and out
    unfortunately they dont do that often as they find us kinda insane

    @Graingy oh, my bad, also, is there like... other people who aren't lucky enough to find a way out? i mean... the smell of death in that tunnel certainly made me believe that someone died, but im still not sure

    @YarisSedan Not targeted, just unlucky.
    You've been destabilized, like a boat being capsized by the turbulent wake of two passing ships. You don't realize it, but you're stuck upside down and have a risk of drifting away at any time.
    Not the greatest analogy, but it paints the picture, no?

    @Boeing727200F Oh, right, I was supposed to write you a guide...
    Two things:
    1: You don't want to end up there, it's an incredible inconvenience. It is literally just a white void with reception desks, a few information kiosks for the countless panicking people who end up there, and a very, very long wait.
    2: Soia doesn't want more stuff there. Unless you can find a sponsor (good luck with that) you cannot go for visits, since then somebody (somebody Soian) will need to send you back later, taking the place of another object or entity to be sent back with that time and energy. Sort of. With a known origin you'd be easier to return, but it still wouldn't be appreciated.

    @OrangeConnor2 Yep.
    @YarisSedan Found a semi-sympathetic MS unit who was willing to help (thanks, MS-086). Turns out that the wakes left by a Monster-Class multiverse dreadnought in the Imos cluster and an MS-S4 in the Astrake Launch Zone interacted with the transfer zone between Universe-1 and the SP pocket dimension to screw you over specifically.
    In other words, you are very unlucky. It may happen again, and I cannot guarantee Soia would be willing to fix it. They may consider it sufficiently natural and occurrence to be part of the cosmic show.

    @MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 Let me rephrase, the connection between the SP pocketdimension and Universe-1 is Soian-maintained. So far as I'm aware Soia doesn't involve themselves much with the events within, so long as it remains suitable for Graingy to conduct business in. That is, after all, the whole reason the connection was created in the first place.

    @OrangeConnor2 we aren't soian-maintained, we are maintained by the one and only, our lord and savior andrew garrison

    @Boeing727200F A very specific kind of Liminal Loss (information - matter, energy, etc. [describable things], disappearing between universes). Not all forms are collected in the gutter, only a certain kind that tends to clog up pathways the Soians have preference for. It's for their own convenience entirely. Actually sending lost information back to where it came from is an incredible kindness, seeing as the alternatives include just destroying it outright. That would take them a lot less resources.
    You can find artifacts and entities there. There are squares kilometers of camps full of wayward souls.

    @MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 It turns out the pocket universe of SimplePlanes isn't as stable as I once thought...
    Which is bad, seeing as it's Soian-maintained. It means they aren't doing their job.
