Merry Christmas

50.3k PlaneFlightX  one month ago

First of all, Merry Christmas everyone.

Well, here we are again. 3 years into SWL-120 development and I'm still not even close to done. I am still working hard behind the scenes on various components, and specific parts are actually in their final version, meaning I will no longer continuously improve them. I have a lot to show for my tenth progress update, such as the interior, new landing gear rims (hint), and autopilot. There's a lot of work on the cockpit as well, and when the current subprojects are complete I'll probably release the next progress update.

With SP2 likely coming out in 2025, you may be wondering what my plans are for the SWL-120, as well as future projects. My current plan based on what we know about SP2 is to release the SWL-120 and its mod primarily for SP1, and then make a port to SP2, including the mod. Based on the assumption of various new parts and building efficiencies available in SP2, the SP2 version of the SWL-120 will likely be similar to releasing a plane with fuselage paneling after the fuselage slicing update, although I may spend a bit of time upgrading certain components.

I will leave you with one single teaser image relating to the new interior, with more information and images to come in the next few months.

@PlaneFlightX 30k part count!? And you manage to reduce it to 900 you say? Thats almost 90% part reduction

@cyon With the old seats (built in SP and added back as 1 part for all seats), the full plane and full interior would be 30,000 vanilla SP parts, not including various mod parts. Without the cockpit, the full plane was 900 parts, which shouldn't change much as the updates I am doing will all end up as a few mod parts.

details that looks like part consuming, which with mods completely cutting off the part count
pretty much if you do made it without any mods, it would have atleast 5k - 10k parts or even more than that

@Rb2h It's actually just 2. Tone gen because hpgbproductions said I couldn't add the source code to my mod, and my SWL-120 Parts mod with all the parts. Although, my parts mod has over 100 mod parts at this point and some are really complex with lots of scripting and input controllers.
