Coming back. Soon!

"...The first production aircraft entered service with the Luftwaffe in January 1947. Distinguished by high speed and maneuverability for jet multi-role fighters. Combat use at the end of January against the B-29 and escort fighters P-51 and P-80 showed relatively good results, but mainly against fighters, due to good armament for combating Allied fighters..."

@uletassu More focused on fighting fighters and other targets, up to medium/frontline bombers. Destroying a heavy bomber with two 20mm cannons, albeit rapid-fire ones, is quite difficult

It’s clear that the Luftwaffe was ahead of the curve when it came to jet fighters in the post-war years. How did this compare to the early US jets like the P-80? Was the armament specifically designed for countering bombers, or was it more focused on dogfighting with other jets?
