Hello everyone!
Continuing on from my WIP F-5 lineage, I'll start where it all started with the Northrop YF-5A!
History:
The YF-5A flew for the first time on 30 July 1959, however preceding it was the YT-38 Talon, the prototype variant of the T-38 Talon. Carrying only the most basic of Air to Air AIM-9B Sidewinders and Dumb Bombs, the YF-5A showcases the period of time where dogfighting was still the dominant role of air combat. The YF-5A was finally cleared into serial production shortly after the JFK Assassination, on 23 April 1962, designated the F-5A "Freedom Fighter".
