We all know that button in the Manage Account menu that says 'Delete Account'. If you ask me, I don't like it at all. And I feel like accidentally deleting an account would be too easy. And if a hacker accesses an account, deleting that account becomes worryingly easy.
I think a barrier should be added to stop such events, like entering your password without any autofill assistance (including Touch ID and Face ID), or having an email sent which includes: a confirmation code that expires after a short time, and 2 buttons: One is link to a URL to enter the code, and the other stops the deletion, and disables the Delete Account for a week.
Another option could be that the 'Delete Account' button just disables the account, so that an account might seem like it no longer exists, but the data is still there. And if the player changes their mind, or wants to reverse actions done without their approval, they can reactivate it through an option when signing in. In terms of account names, if one account chooses a name used by a manually-disabled account, a warning pops up, stating that if the other account is reactivated, the first one will have to change its name.
While the whole point of deleting your account is to delete everything associated with it, it's also the main issue. When it's gone, it's gone. You can't get it back. So having a way to retrieve accounts deleted accidentally, or accounts deleted by a hacker, or having a way to prevent such accidents in the first place, would make me feel a bit better knowing that if I accidentally press it, or some else does so deliberately, there's still a way back.
I haven't pressed the Delete Account button, so I'm not sure if it just deletes my account instantly, or asks if I'm sure I want to do that. Either way though, I not taking any chances.
congrats on Plat!
Basic cyber security can negate most "hackers"
may I suggest a proper complex password to the account, using secure wifi/connections, not clicking on suspicious links, proper anti-malware / spyware, keeping web browsers and systems updated, only log in on your own devices, and most of all: not using the same or similar password more than once. also don't use any personal information in a password, like your birth year or anything similar to your name/username. Just use a randomly generated password for best password security.
It makes sure that you know what you're doing.
