Graingy Survey: So, uh, what now?

41.2k Graingy  21 days ago

I honestly am not sure what to do with myself right now. Well, okay, I have a few ideas, but beyond that. Fortunately I have this old laptop, however it's damaged internally (the whole reason I replaced it with my gaming laptop) and is very out of date in terms of local files (since, y'know, I couldn't really do anything with it). At the very least I could move a small number of older files to the cloud.

Better than nothing, I guess.

Anyways, I don't trust this thing (it runs super hot and can crash when moved or pressed wrong), so I probably won't be doing any writing or anything of that sort.
Still, looking got suggestions. Related to this site, of course.
Hell, feel free to just ask me stuff, I suppose. Not like I have much better to do.

    Entirely unrelated, but this ancient website, though broken in some areas, has some catchy MIDIs. Might need to do some inspect element to add controls to make some files, play. For example.

    @Ashdenpaw1 Nothing was wrong with the battery.
    And I've gotten it back. I'm typing on it.
    Data could not be recovered, but at least I had my old laptop to recover some older local files from its era. Unfortunately the really prized stuff, like the screen recording of my 20 kill WT match, is lost to time.

    @Graingy
    Still dangerous to keep a battery in an unstable device
    Part of my mom’s job is spreading awareness for how dangerous lithium ion batteries are

    @Ashdenpaw1 What made you think it was a battery issue? The hard drive was busted.
    Damnit, just realized I should have mentioned the dead pixels on the screen. Warranty would have covered it. FUCK!

    Get rid of the battery safely, by removing it while the computer is shut down and getting rid of it in a battery disposal bin or go to recycling center and ask for assistance, do NOT throw it away into a trash can.

    That computer having a battery in it is dangerous
