Here are some things that would hinder me from reaching higher points:
Lack of creativity in making things - I have that thing, and I need to improve my builds. That's why there are some newer players that has reached a lot than me in 3 years.
Rarely uploading - I need to upload things more frequently to get more points, or else I'm stuck here.
Not improving - My builds are just simple as it is back then, that is why im getting only a few upvotes.
Being inactive - Being inactive will slow down your points so severe that in some cases will not get you any points anymore
This things will also slow down you from getting points, not just me

Points 1 and 3 I understand you, I have the same problem with this, you can upload rarely, but the builds must be of very high quality.
