I've used this website for a couple weeks now and honestly, there's ton's of genuinely interestingly aircraft and random gadgets on here. But my most favorite part is the VR support. It's amazing being able to download external aircraft with more parts than my vr can handle (3 year old quest 2 with no pcvr)
But the biggest mood killers is finding a beautiful aircraft, with either no cockpit or a half a$$ed one. Im not going to name any examples (unless if you wanna be one??) but there's numerous out there that broke my heart. So. Im here to make vr support a better place!
My plan is to help those in need of an basic cockpit. Now I know looking at my page you see probably a single aircraft with a unfinished cockpit. at the time of this post atleast. but there's really nothing to lose. the main reason why its not finished is because im working on the whole plane, not just the cockpit. and mostly i've lost motivation but It'll come back soon.
If your here still its time to discuss the details😈
1. this will be free of charge. im doing this mainly to improve on designing, and i just get bored.
2. I cant promise when it'll be finished. im a human too. i get caught up in school work, life problems, simply loss of motivation. And parents that seek with thirst. (getting grounded) so if i don't finish the cockpit by your release date sowwy. just update it when u can.
3. Obviously im not the best, and honestly you'd have a better outcome if you learn cockpit work on your own. but if its something you just cant dabble in then i respect that... somewhat. At this time i have no FT experience, so im limited to what i can do. Although i know how to Ctrl c and ctrl v varibles so i can add a HUD or mayhaps a MFD. I progress in mostly coldwar era - to modern aircraft but maybe i could pull off a wwII plane.
4. The sharing process. Obviously you dont wanna send somb your months of work and then they take you creation and post it as their own. so just give me a small snippet of the cockpit area. Its essential that you have it directly from the aircraft so when you actually put it in there isnt any problems.
5. Credit. I would prefer if you say the cockpit is by me, or mostly by me, but im not gna have a 6 foot stick shoved in me if you simply misspell my name. lowk would understand if you don't want "drakesdragger" tied to you. but that's a battle you can fight.
I hope this reaches to those in need and think you. ill keep working on my own planes to just to say ive put in work too. and cuz making your own stuff is fun too. if maybe you saw that too, you wouldnt be here. or your just curious. i dont judge. everything after this is update notes on what ive learned or changed:
@DrakesDragger oh yes, theres no position variables sadly..
thank you so much for the info!! 😁
@griges All of of the grips for me work. also you cant get the hud to follow in vr(atleast i don't think) every aircraft ive flown with a hud like that never stays with you in vr. i would record and show you but i kinda cant..
the grip is gripping too right?
there was a problem, the grip wasnt touchable
@DrakesDragger thak you very much!!!
so ill keep that size from now on 😁
so, in vr, the camera is not limited to rotation?
so beside you can see rotator, the hud didnt follow too??
i never knew that!
imma try to get a workaround, i dont know how tho...yet
@griges Just tried it on Vr! Honestly its really good. The buttons are a good size and everything is operitable from the cockpit. I had alot of fun with it. The hud works to but theres one problem. You can see the rotater when you move your head to the side. Basically in vr imagine the camera isn't only able to rotate, but also move. If theres a way to hide the rotater that would be perfect. But other than that its a really solid build🔥
i made and play on mobile, if that cockpit is at least okay, ill use it as reference.
@DrakesDragger thank you!
still working on it,
but i dont know if you mind
i have this tagged vr
but im not sure if the buttons and hud are too big or small
if i need help ill tag you in an unlisted aircraft
@griges sure. Link the aircraft or tell me which one it is and ill test it.
how about testing cockpit?
i was wondering if the vr version has a lot of difference than the screen one,
mainly because im on mobile.
what usually off from cockpits in vr
