[M-War II] Operation Week

9,895 RB107  10 days ago

Monday, 00:00 a.m. RRHI fleet, Vanguard Of The Waves sailed away from Snowstone. The fleet contained all active RRHI ships, consisting of one Developer-class frigate, RRS Gabriel and four Gensokyo-class destroyers RRS Hakurei, RRS Hakugyokurou, RRS Netherworld and RRS Eientei.

The five ships sailed south for operation Week, attack on Wright Airport. The fleet carried all the supplies they could carry, mostly food.

"Logistics, especially food, is quite vulnerable in our fleet. We don't have any supply ships yet and the logistics capacity on our ships is quite poor because weaponry takes precedence. The logistics of each ship can only keep them operating for a week. For that reason, RRHI fleet can only operate not far from snowstone." -Gabriel

As the name suggests, this operation was planned to last for a week.

Tuesday, 11:24 a.m. The fleet arrived at Krakabloa. RSS Gabriel dropped anchor and became the command ship for the Gensokyo class that continued to sail south.

"Unlike the Gensokyo Class which is powered by nuclear reactors, the Developer class still relies on gas turbine propulsion, this further limits its operational range and sometimes leaves it separated quite far behind the front lines. For that reason we made it as a command ship."

Tuesday at 15:37, the four Gensokyo-class ships arrived between Krababloa and Wright isles and disappeared from the radar, something quite surprising for the few people watching the radar at the time.

The Gensokyo class submerged and continued to move to the Wright Isles. This was part of the Operation Week and the utilization of the ship's unexpected features.

"We've never seen the power of the Wright Isles firsthand, but we believe that the island is at least well guarded. A reckless attack would only result in chaos. The Reformists are also known to have gotten information about RRHI's surprise operation that will utilize the storm as cover, so in order to surprise them, we'll have to find a new way." - Raphael.

"The Gensokyo class has quite a unique feature in its damage control. Under the hull are several pressurized rooms that can be filled with water at any time. So if the ship takes a hit on one side, we just need to flood the other side of the ship and balance it out.

But if you fill all those chambers with water, the ship can lower its profile or even dive like a submarine...

...the overall design of the Gensokyo-class hull also allows it to dive. The Gensokyo-class armor is optimized to withstand Oto melara class weapons, this armor is enough to withstand water pressure at a depth of 100 meters. The gensokyo class also has few vents, windows and doors to be blocked, making diving even easier. We just need to give it a snorkel and the ship can dive for as long as it wants.

At first we used this feature as a last resort for ships to escape from a battle, but for Operation Week, we tried this feature for offensive attacks." -Gabriel

The four Gensokyo-class ships approached the Wright isles as the sun began to set. Although the ships only dived at periscope depth, the darkness of the night helped to hide them better. They continued to move without any resistance from enemy.

Wednesday, 00:00. The fleet stopped on the east side of Wright isles, their distance to the mainland was only about 10 kilometers. The four lined-up ships immediately surfaced and open fire on Wright Airport.

"The moment the four ships surfaced, MJDX was turned on. MJDX is a jamming system that will disrupt electronic systems at a distance of 25 kilometers. When turned on, the system will disrupt radar, missile and communication systems. This system is still experimental and only available on the RSS Hakurei. Although it works well, the MJDX will shut down after 30 minutes of use due to overheating." - Gabriel.

"MJDX will interfere with both friend and foe electronic systems. So when the MJDX is turned on, our electronic systems will also be disrupted and we won't be able to access the missiles. Fortunately, the Gensokyo class still relies on cannons for its main weapon, so we just need to install a fire control system from the 40s and the cannons will hit the enemy hard." -Rachel

The four destroyers continued to bombard the Wright airport, hoping their attacks would destroy their CIWS guns if they had them or at least startle the enemy from their slumber.

A total of 21 cannon salvos were fired from all four ships before the MJDX finally stopped working. Immediately, the four ships fired all the missiles they had, targeting them at the Wright airport and quickly diving to leave before they received a counterattack.

"Hundreds of missiles flew through the air and immediately hit the airport like rain. Explosions and craters were everywhere! I also saw a huge fireball there just before we fully dived, most likely from their fuel storage." -Unknown Sailor.

Wednesday at 12:45, all Gensokyo-class ships rejoined RSS Gabriel at Krakabloa and the fleet immediately sailed back to snoswtone.

Thursday at 01.55, RSS Gabriel ran out of fuel and was towed by all four Gensokyo-class ships.

Friday at 00:00, the fleet reached snowstone and received checks and repairs.

Saturday at 11:00, the RRHI fleet sailed away from Snowstone for the second time, now with an unknown destination. It is known that this fleet fills a large supplies such as the beginning of the operation.

AFTERMATH
On the Reformist side, Wright airport was destroyed along with several aircraft that parked in there. Several tons of fuel are also lost. It is estimated that Wright airport will require lengthy repairs and temporarily limit Reformist's air operations. The number of enemy casualties is unknown.

On the RRHI side, there were no casualties. This attack was considered a success.

I tried a new approach to delivering my story... I tried to make it like a cinematic documentation. What do you think about that? Is this better or bad?

@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 I have never actively attacked anyone before. Who did it? It's so hard to guess~
Who was there saying 'Oh, although your defense is excellent, I can still launch a surprise attack through 10 million methods', and who was there only symbolically responding to a few rockets, and still very cooperative admitting to being attacked by you?
When I become a real villain, you'd better still be able to tell this.

@RB107 oh it is noice,i might try something like this since it is tiring to make screenshots then edit them then make sure everything is in logical order(plus limitations on my device,i can spawn only several AI before it affects my performance,i was struggling while making factory attack shots)

@RB107 By the way, I remember something. All the ships involved in the attack are docked at the port of Snow Town, right?
The artillery bombing range of ETSF in Snow Town covers the entire island!
