Well... Hello!
It's been a while, hasn't it?
If you happened to see my last post you might as well have thought I was sending myself off to be good as dead! Nope! I am back... Safe. I'll keep this as short as possible, so it doesn't become a rambling text wall.
I never thought I would have chosen to be in the position I was just a year ago, but man it was all worth it in the end, at least to me. My last day of deployment was on December 12th, 2024, and I returned to the states in February of 2025.
To not get too deep into the political side of it, I started off on the combat-sided role early in my time out in the fields, but eventually my brigade and I gave up arms and decided to take the humanitarian-sided role later on in my time out there. I will say with full confidence and seriousness, if I could have the chance and ability to do what I did then, being able to help those who needed it most back there, I'd gladly do it again without hesitation or regard for myself. I didn't care what happened to me, as long as I could help I felt complete...
Nowadays ever since returning, I work at my local airport as an Aircraft Line Service Technician (ALST) and in my free time I help by volunteering at a variety of places such as churches, food banks, care facilities, animal shelters... If it has open volunteer hours, I take it. It's the mindset I have now and always have: If I can help, I will. And I won't stop until the work is done even if life is on the line.
It's all I can, and it's all I will do...
Bonjour.
Can't say I recognize you, but welcome back I guess.
heya! welcome back dude! :D
