It always be this frustrating when we tried to update XML file. I mean, how much is the maximum size of the file and what is an expert way to deal with this issue?
Another issue with this is there's a chance that your XML file was invalid despite we have enter the url ID correctly, which is feels like a gamble of fate between living or death.
.
If only devs can saw this
This is why I still stick to ol' reliable: uploading a fixed version of whatever the original was.
@AndrewGarrison Firefox of course. Sometimes chrome in any small case
@LunarEclipseSP What web browser are you using?
@AndrewGarrison For an inefficient but working way, my own method, using a reverse-engineering method by make a copy of an existing XML file in your save whatever you have but make sure the file size is the smallest from the other. Paste it outside SP folder, and replace all the script with the script from the updated XML folder. Save, and rename the copied file with the same name with the XML file. After you have your reverse-engineered version of the XML file, try to update it with that reverse engineered version of the XML file and it should be work.
I once had a same issue as her, sometimes it always be that frustrating. Hopely it still work because it was a long time since i never encountered this issue and never doing it anymore. it is also a method that i remember from my memory to deal with this issue.
@AndrewGarrison That is the reupload version. Unfortunately the previous version was deleted, Mr. Andrew
.
So I can say, it's already a different url ID and an updated version
.
In short, The old and the new is actually a same, but the old one has an airbrake part and the new version is not. I want to change the XML with the updated version but I'm unable to do it due to this issue. As a result, I had no choice to delete the old one and post the updated XML as an actual post instead.
@LunarEclipseSP Does this post have the same XML you were trying to upload?
@AndrewGarrison Okay here is it, the file which I supposed to upload was 26KB, and the ID was actually correct, exactly same as the previous XML post (which is now deleted and reuploaded with the new one). I swear to god it was the exact url ID that I've inputted, Mr. Andrew. But it always told me that the url ID is invalid.
@AndrewGarrison I forgot I guess it was like 27KB as I remember.
Also according to my bloke @WHNineTrieOne said that sometimes the new XML file was invalid even though we have inputted the exact url ID. It is so unreasonable.
.
Also thanks to let me know that first. Now I know that the max size is 2MB
.
And also, I'll give more information about the issue later on.
The max file size is 2MB. How big was the file you were attempting to upload?
The comparison with the url ID is case sensitive.
If you have some XML that demonstrates these problems, please send it my way so I can investigate.
Try the XML File reverse engineering method that i've told you before. It should be work, i hope so cuz it was a very long time since i'm not doing this again.
