If you mean the lock position button bathe editor, it's for a good reason. You know how sometimes your trying to attach something to a fuselaihe block and it keeps jumping between two spots? Prss the lock position button and it will stop moving, even if you try to drag it around. The you remove your finger from the object and the the lock position button and the part will be where you want it. I hope this is what you were looking for :)
