This will be a sorta chapter book kind of thing, something I plan on posting somewhere else possibly. This is just a prologue, the first chapter will be written up soon.

It takes place in WWII as an Air Force pilot in the Europe war

Prologue

War never changes, since the Egyptian wars and Civil war. I was a pilot, in the war era, piloting and gunning, day and night. I always dreaded the end, the moment when the krouts put lead into my wings, when my engine ignites. I flew the legendary P-38G, and also flew the P-51D halfway through the war. Left and right, up and down, high G's and low G's, I experienced it all. I was an ACE. Bomber squadrons, B-17's, 24's, I saw it all. I was one mission away from heading home to see my kids, my wife, everyone I loved... Until my most feared nightmare came true...
