@Skua infact i follow several memeber who use mods because they are also very skilled builders ex. @Delphinus, buts its like giving the fastest men in the world rocket shoes and saying go race...:)
@Skua nor did I imply that Modded works take no effort, only that it gives those designs a definite appeal advantage, i realize mods help the game progress but the way its setup is reducing the ability for new players to become strong members of the community. As i mentioned in another forum post, we may want to consider a Modded and non-modded upload section... just a thought, i do not intend any negative feelings or thoughts about any member here(using mods is cool too, i want to learn more) Just sharing my thoughts as to the separation this may be causeing and an idea as to how to solve it
@Thelaw11 General360 is a pretty solid counterexample to that, he doesn't use any xml edits at all. Otherwise, plenty of people use xml edits but don't get hugely popular, because making the planes that you're talking about actually takes a massive amount of effort.
Regardless, the point of my post was that it's not really fair to blame experienced players for new ones not getting attention. These experienced players are often some of the most attentive to the community as well.
@Skua This could be a result of "mods" only being usable for a very few select ppl. They can create designs that look totally different even though there is no real change to the physics of the design. however because this gives the appearance of being unique only modded planes now get upvotes and new players know nothing about mods in any shape way or form.(maybe have to separae catagories... modded planes and non modded planes)
someone hacked our account. we did not say "This has been said many times but I want to say it again: PLEASE DO NOT CHECK OUT NEW PLAYERS!!!!!11" we originaly said the opposite. if you look at the comments, all of the comments are positive up until about nine hours ago. I repeat, we did not post this!!!
A lot of the more experienced players put a lot of effort in to helping less experienced ones. However, out of nearly 40,000 registered accounts, only 149 have gold or above. There's just not enough to go around!
I'm a pretty avid supporter for lower-ranked players. I'm very
lucky that I gained as many points as quickly as I did, but I think the amount of points you have doesn't always affect how good your planes are ;)
@dsr1aviation I agree, however I had a higher ranked player then me harshly criticize my design when they made just as good airplanes when they were my level.
It has been an issue for a while. However rank has nothing to do with it. I am a high rank and i still browse through new planes and occasionally check out the last page of users. Delphinus does support new users as does spiritusraptor. However we can not cover everyone. This should be a message for everyone not just high ranking users.
