After going through the forums i feel like i must be missing something, there are a lot of people saying that the aircraft they make are not getting a lot of upvotes. I thought the "fun: of this game was in building and flying yours and others aircraft. after flipping through the new planes, there are VERY FEW that recieve more than 2 or 3 votes. After looking at the higher ranked builders on here they are making exceptional quality aircraft that would recieve a lot of attention, far more than the aircraft i am producing at this early stage in my Simpleplanes adventure. If you are getting upvotes at all on aircraft within 24 hours of posting take that as a success, build things that make me want to check out the rest of your profile, if i like it ill follow and im sure others will to. going into forums and "begging for attention" just doesnt seem like it is the spirit of this game.

Sofa, to an extent I would agree, however there is a difference between validating and begging or playing the no one likeshould me game...
I guess it's because, admittedly, there's not a whole lot to do in the game - You can only do so many races or dogfights before it starts to get boring, so I guess showcasing your work becomes the draw. Or people are just fond of their work and seek validation from the community.

@Warbrine I like your post, now if some "unrecognized" players will read this and the other posts that are linked to it, start doing some homework and figure out how to build planes in thier style, maybe we will have less of the "no on likes my plane" posts....

i think the upvote button shold be placed above the comments, and the people who upvoted should be in an expandable tab like a "show more" button
I do wish some of my planes that I take hours to make get noticed, but I'm not going to force people to download anything out of pity, it is a game and it should be fun!

I agree but I do love getting upvotes it just makes me happy
It's not so much that it's pathetic, it's that people want instant gratification, they believe that the build they made is bigger/ better/ faster/ better looking or cooler than the rest, but unfortunately one person's diamond is another persons old coal, so just because I think mine is the best, doesn't mean I need to be upset when it doesn't get much attention, I should continue to strive to make it better and eventually the work will speak for itself and people will take notice.

Although people saying that 3 or 4 upvotes is bad isn't completely pointless, in the old days before fuselage blocks if I posted a plane it would get over 20 upvotes in the first 3 hours of it being uploaded.
And over 100 downloads, now because so many people are uploading all the builds get drowned out, and unless you follow someone you won't neccacarily know if they've posted something unless they tag you on it.

Exactly it's not who can build the fastest or coolest planes, it's who can build the interest and best following... although cool looking planes do indeed help lol.
I got to admit I was like how come some people can share a engine and wings and get more upvotes for something that takes me 3 days to make but now I'm seeing how to play the 'game' and following other players and upvoting forms and others people's planes.
