Nuclear engines/ reactors

Connect one to a engine or jet and it will last a long time before the fuel runs out, the fuel bar could be yellow or something. There could be a special type of block that has to be placed in the reactor so it can run. If the plane crashed the engine explodes into a spectacular explosion, maybe even destroying a bridge if it is close. Anyone like?

Radiation? Extraordinarily heavy lead shielding? Weight? Size? This is why nuclear powered planes were dropped in the Cold War. Impractical at BEST.
