I have been of of simpleplanes for a while because reasons (tf2 competitive beta pass) BUT once I tried installing it 2-3 days ago and running it it would open and then show a black screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, all the basic tricks. If any of you have had this happen before, please tell me how to fix, and notify devs.
@AndrewGarrison I think I might know the problem. When my dad and I were working on my computer he accidentally deleted a bunch of computer files and had to go to the backup which might have messed up something. Im going to try and get rid of any sp related file and then reinstall because something might be getting in the way
@AndrewGarrison thanks for the help dude
@Meawk That sounds to me like a permission problem. If the game is unable to write the necessary files in that folder, it's probably failing to start correctly. Your output.log might be helpful. You can find that here:
I would be interested in seeing that if you can share it with me via pastebin.
@AndrewGarrison ok I have tried all these things many many times and one thing I just noticed is that the folder you have pasted below has nothing in it, or that the files are hidden
Try renaming your Settings.xml file to Settings.xml.backup. You can find your settings.xml file here:
Also, try forcing your computer to use DX9, which you can find directions here.
