Well, okay, not exactly...

Here are some images.

Edit: How? Simple explanation in comments.

    @HellFireKoder Just uttering the words of many a user... Will this be available as a mod any time soon? Or even just releasing a few fuselage parts with script applied?

    @vonhubert the script goes on the transparent copies of the parts (which you manually set up in the Unity editor), and yes parts stay that way (during sandbox... it's peculiar in designer sometimes IIRC), though I haven't tried it in a while and I'm not sure if it works the same anymore...

    @HellFireKoder How to implement this script into the game? And is it possible to get this working on mobile?

    @KingDeadshot No, it's Sparta.

    It looks like that took a bit of time to figure out. Like the class file name. :-) @HellFireKoder

    @WalrusAircraft Here's the important script, which is put on the part GameObject during the part modifier's Initialization ;)

    @WalrusAircraft Thanks!

    How difficult was the script?

    Well, it took me about a day and a half of strong focus to figure out, because setting the shader to transparent mode was odd and new, and I had to enable "emission" as well otherwise it didn't work, which makes no sense at all XD

    And it completely ignores the opacity that I set, so something is clearly still off =(

    @Ezri Thanks! Hopefully I can get the opacity slider to actually work, because I'd be much happier releasing the mod if you can at least tweak the transparency of this inefficient code ;)

    @Ezri @MrSilverWolf @Jetspeed1001 Black magic!
    Actually, I just duplicated the parts and threw a script on them to make them transparent... it renders kinda funny sometimes (shadows on the runway, for one example), and is terribly inefficient XD
