[Beta] Graphical Glitch: XML Scaled prop, and XML Scaled Wheel collision incorrect

15.3k inspectregaben  8.6 years ago

@AndrewGarrison in the new beta you can now scale virtually anything.... if you scale a prop it Doesn't scale the Propeller "Pedals" in the editor and inflight you will visually end up with a oversized prop ... once you turn on the engine and it changes to its "Blur" animation it fixes it self and looks all normal proper to the size of the engine. OK now with the wheels.... if you scale them they are fine BUT if for whatever reason if you make the Wheel "Long" by changing the XML scale from (Example "1,1,1" to "1,1,2") it will have a collision too low making the wheels look as if they were floating.

@AndrewGarrison some how i didn't receive your response via my notifications. Sorry about "update rotors" should been a separate word. I meant to say that if you could add a Helicopter rotor that works the same as a propeller but has its model changed to something that resembles the control system of a helicopter (ex. Swashplate and discs) even if its just aesthetic and works sames as a prop. Or.. you could add a option to the propeller (the Blade T1000) that swaps the model to a rotor and allows for larger diameters.

@AndrewGarrison thank you i was wondering if you could also add in the new update rotors... or gyros. though it's not necessary.

Okay, the prop engines should be fixed in the next update. The resizable wheels will not. Some parts will not support non-uniform scaling. Since this is an advanced XML modding feature, I'm not going to prevent this. Just something for you XML modders will need to know about.

@kikasshes nonono its not that if you "scale" the engine the game "forgets" to scale the prop... when you scale the diameter of the propeller to match the now xml scaled engine you will realize that you will end with mini props

but I think it's good with the prop. If you have access to scale I don't see why you couldn't change the diameter in the XML.
