All parts at 1/3 scale

Mod TheLatentImage  8.7 years ago

Here are all parts at scale=".333,.333,.333" for all of your 1/3 scale building needs. I thought those that are either unable to or don't know how to edit xml might find these handy. You can find them right Here

Edit- Here are pieces of the same size with a scaled mass as indicated by kikasshes.

Edit2- Here are double scale

Edit3- It appears that it is one piece of landing gear short of being all of them... whoops.

@HellFireKoder @TheLatentImage I've never really gone down the designer plugin route before, but I think it would probably be easier to remake the script in C# or JS, using the mod tools interface

@HellfireKoder might be able to assist in the mod area. He's done well with the mods that he has created. @WNP78

@TheLatentImage I'm not sure about how to upload it as a mod, it's just a standalone script that finds your SP folder, and alter the files. I might see what I can do to create an online service.

@WNP78 Would you be able to make that into a mod for others to use? I personally would find something like that very handy, were you willing to share that.

@TheLatentImage yeah, I'm gifted with the ability to code python. I have quite a good script which auto-detects the Simpleplanes aircraft directory, spews out a list of your aircraft and lets you choose one. Then you choose the output name, and the scale factor and it scales it. As well as the position and scale, it changes the mass, and if it is a jet engine, it changes the power relatively, and the exhaust scale, it also changes the power of props. I quite like scripting, which is why I've made such a big script, I personally find it satisfying.

@WNP78 See... my thing is I'm not the most computer skilled person in the world. I can xml edit fine, but I wouldn't know where to start in writing a script. I would imagine that if you set the scale to .25,.25,.25 and then multiplied the position values by .25 then everything will fall into place.

@CyberDyneIndustries I recently downloaded notepad++ and after using it for only a short time I would highly recommend it.

@TheLatentImage What are some good text editors?

@WNP78 you got it to change the piece position according to the scale?

@TheLatentImage yes, that's what the script does.
@t8erh8er yes, in fact it's slightly easier than changing the weight.

@CyberDyneIndustries you get yourself a text editor and you start with the information in that link.

@WNP78 I can scale entire designs with the replace function in my text editor. That part is fairly easy. Only thing is the positions stay the same. So everything is spread out. We need a way to alter piece position concurrently with the scale that we're trying to change it to.

I recently made a python script that scales entire aircraft. If you want anything scaled, tell me.
