As a low leveled player, I don't understand. I know I don't build well, so I deal with it. I agree with what you're saying, but throwing away your points isn't the way to solve it.

@MoterKade you are correct, the drive to better ones self and to better ones ability should be the ultimate goal here. I would also like to remind everyone that the points don't matter, but in a different way than is addressed here. Just because someone has a ton of points it doesn't mean that they continually make amazing things in the editor. And just because someone has zero points it doesn't mean that they don't make amazing things in the editor. A persons score on this site is not a direct reflection of their skills in the editor. It is a combination of their effort in the two areas of this gaming experience, the editor and the community. I think sometimes people get so caught up in the points system here and that need to get upvotes and some form of validation that they aren't having fun playing the game. And if you aren't having fun... then what are you doing here? Cause you're doing it wrong if that's the case.

@TheLatentImage Thank you. I was not my intent to create this much fuss over points removal. I did not even know of the post you linked in your comment until now. It is exactly how I feel about it. My true intent was to show people that it not points that matter but the striving to improve their builds and skill set. I did just that and I have one of the highest rated builds in under a month. I wanted to show that I would gladly forfeit the points as they mean nothing in thier current state. I am not the first to say that really good builds/ builders slip through the cracks, but I am pretty sure I'm the first to call attention to it in this fasion. Like I said I like this game/ community and this very post is a great example of why, and why things need to change. We could have so many great builds and co-op builds etc by just reviewing the points system and or replacing it with something else. Hey I get it. the Dev are working on this wonder called SimplePlanes as well as other wonders like SimpleRockets too. So the little voices do not always get heard. The legitimate ones that have tried hard and have created really awesome stuff. get pasted up and are lost in the oceans of creation ( and lets be honest those oceans have not been explored as well as they should.) I just spent the last hour going though builds page by page. hunting and looking for those gems. People I was lucky. Yes I have some skills in the build department, but that was not just built on my own. There are people that have helped me that dont have the points I have. Built tools that I can manipulate thing and get them to do what I need. So my points in the end belong to the community. I personally enjoy the comments. They mean more and give more to boost ones drive to build and strive for that next big build or mobile friendly.

I guess in the end what I am saying is it time to take it to the next level. What ever that might be. I take my inspiration from the community and give back to it as the best I can. I truely believe that is the case for most. The High ranks to the lowest. Share and enjoy alike.

@MoterKade i agree, and in order for more people to get recognition, i put out weekly shoutouts, which i have neglected to post this week. you were almost on them, then you got featured, so, that was its own shoutout. however, i do feel that if we as a community move toward making simple planes a better place to be, we have a more powerful impact than if we did it individually. and i as a member of this incredible community do wish to do everything in my power to better it for the likes of undiscovered users.

@MoterKade I don't have anything to do with the distribution of points. Though, your point is well made. I think that there are a number of factors at play here. When dealing with any type of social networking site that utilizes a voting and/or points system you are going to have individuals who base their own self worth on these meaningless digital points/votes. You can see such things in the likes of Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. That fact coupled with the relatively young average age of the community here, and the rather limited life experience that these young members have lead to the types of comments and posts that you are referencing in this post. Some of the users here haven't experienced enough in life to fully understand that stuff like this truly doesn't matter in the whole scheme of things, and to them not getting the attention that they think that they deserve is somehow a reflection of their own value and character.
For those of you that do feel this way, I detailed in this post a couple of the factors that are potentially at play for those of you who may feel under appreciated or lacking the attention and recognition that you desire. Also, I would like to remind everyone that there is a wide curve to the skills that the users here have inside the editor. You all can see just as well as I can the level of quality that is capable with this game. If you aren't striving to obtain that degree of control over your creations at some point... then maybe you aren't pushing yourself hard enough. Try to make your current build better than your last. And try to make your next build better than your current one.
Also, remember this: Someone has to be first, and someone has to be last. All the rest are somewhere in the middle. And that is ok. When the curtain falls at the end, all of this is just a footnote in the story of you anyways.

@MoterKade The devs should make a rule in the forum that says to wineing about points. I agree on your point though. I once tried to get some vews/upvotes and people said I was a self promotor.

@Upquark you dont have to do that! but thank you for your support. All Im saying is the points system is no longer valid. System can not support the community in its current form. the game is growing and so does this system need to as well. I cant even go on the forum to help other or get help on game related issues without people whining about points. Im pretty sure that something that many feel the pain of. Plus those who try to promo their builds and get some views/points get crushed for doing so. Kinda sucks.
