I was dicking around Simpleplanes after a long while of not playing and - don't get me wrong, these wheels are AWESOME - but as a former QA consultant, I started... DICKING. And so I found out that under the appearances, wheels were REALLY broken:
-They don't work if they're ~50 degrees off the normal plane. They just don't spin.
-WHEN they don't work because of the above, they become rigid objects with the same collision as the fuselage.
-They apply thrust in relation to friction to objects OR have no inverse-kinematics that cancel out the friction
An example plane that showcases all three of these points is here: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/skq0IV/Something
I'll probably reply here as I find more issues (I'll be investigating pistons/shocks too >:D)
It does this on mobile, sometimes even spinning at start or twitching.
Yes, they do, if the throttle is on. Otherwise, not in any significant manner.
does your wheels ever just spin? like even when your not driving? like when the game is loaded? it bothers me..
@General360 But these are relatively easy to fix, and would go towards future-proofing the game.
@General360 I know. Probably because nobody else messed with them like I did XD
