just wondering if there are any tutorials for vtol building. i have a loose guide that got me started with standard planes but im on a bit of a vtol thing at the moment.
I had some very minor success with a rebuild of a standard plane that i slightly rebalanced and fitted vtols in place of the regular engines. I did manage to take off vertical transition to level flight complete an airfield circuit transition back and land somewhat vertically. However this was only once out of 2-3 hours. My vehicle is extremely unstable and i want to know why, so i can build more and better vtols
I am probably finding the greatest challenge in transition from take off into horizontal flight. the modified normal plane i have been toying with tends to just pitch up the moment i attempt to give any forward thrust EDIT <-- while it does its backflippy thing when i try to transition i can take the plane off normally using the nozzles in normal flight mode and the plane actually has reasonable performance and is pretty responsive to controls
the CoT is too low compared to CoM :)
@Bando89 hey i do have a bunch of those on the nose and tail also on the wingtips for roll stability. the rcn's were the only thing letting me manage to make the vertical take off. Its just during the transition the backflip tendancy vastly overpowers any effect of flight controls/rcn nozzles
you need to place some rcn-s
I can help with VTOLS, I have some experience
