The thing with most games is that they don't usually last very long. When the game stops receiving updates and become a completed game, what's going to happen to the community? What If the devs release an update that absolutely WRECKS the game? This might sound paranoid and kinda dumb, but just think about it. What will happen?
@Brields95 It isn't 2.0, 1.9 now, 1.10 next
If you're talking about the April fools update, that's not official
@Flightsonic Notch went incomunicoto. Yes Minecraft went to build 2 but they ruined it.
But a game like this, there's so much to expand on, including modding compatibility. Plus, there's always something to add.
@Brields95 But the big updates just started... you never end with a bang, you start with one, if that makes sense
(But didn't Minecraft just go to 1.9? And 1.10 soon?)
As far fetched as that sounds, Minecraft went down that very road. If SimplePlanes were to stop being developed, i think the community would still be there, unless the server got shut down, in which case Jundroo would fold. I wouldn't be surprised if a larger company picked them up, and developed a whole new game based on a sandbox style vehicle builder. But, on the flip side, I have a very strong feeling Multiplayer for the game is being developed, and if my feelings are correct, and an effective/cost efficient server is used, SimplePlanes could become just as big as Minecraft. But for that to happen, many new features would need to be added, and the challenge is for Jundroo to not run out of money doing so. Money, that comes solely from new players, and which they never see.
It's kinda' a labor of love for Jundroo. And since new player activity is dying down, thanks in part to Jelly's slandering, we may be seeing the final updates to the game from Jundroo very soon. I don't know if a multiplayer server can even be maintained.
