Hi guys! I have noticed recently that a lot of builds on the simpleplanes website have been stolen, although those stolen planes don't get any attention, sometimes it could really get annoying to the original makers.
Here's why:
1: You have to report them if you manage to find those.
2: You have to justify it belongs to you in case they say they made it
3: Sometimes you may have to deal with some serious dushbags.
However on the bright side you may...
1: get successor points if they made changes notable
2: get a credit to you
3: generally feel good about how people enjoyed your creations.
However, there is one type of people that really tickle my pet peeve; these are the people who ask if they can use a plane of yours over and over again even if you say no, they still upload it and be complete d### about it.
So what's my point?
-As a creator you should not get pissed and solve problems like this in a polite manner. (I'm am over the top guilty of this one). Why? Well, people generally listen more if you speak calmly in text instead of all caps; it makes them feel intimidated and may countinue "annoying" and copying you.
-As a player/ people who takes the plane and re-uploads them, please consider giving the original user credit and make significant changes or at least something notable. Say someone uploads a fuselage; don't just strap 5 wings and 2 gears on it and call it a day, add some detailing in wings, fuselage and whatnot, then slap on a livery. Anyone can slap 5 parts on to an already made fuselage! If uploading, consider giving the original creator credit, it really do mean a lot to the creator that someone has enjoyed and modified your creation a considerable amount!

Please do not use so many swear words (for some reason including censors) because technically that is against the rules, and nobody (or at least not I) want you banned
I'd be annoyed if someone copied my plane and didn't give me credit. I don't mind what is done with my planes if it's done through the successor system - it all gives me points and people might find their way back to my original.

So I made an A-340 and I'm not going to say names, well he came along and said "I already made the 747 did you copy me!?!" And I tried to tell him that the plane I made was in fact mine and that it was not a 747 but an a340 he still wasn't having any of that, he did find my 747 and said (not making this up) "bad! Jumps off cliff!" And then he uploaded his 747 which was a brick with wings attached to it and then said that I had copied it...
What really gets me is when people accuse you for copying a plane they hadn't built yet...

btw You've found me a new pass-time: Copy Police. I think more people should try this.
It should definitely take more than a stupid paint job to allow a successor plane. That seems to be 80% of the copies.
