Fuel consumption question

257 prreich  8.5 years ago

Does horsepower (for those engines which are adjustable) change the fuel consumption as well?

I've noticed something far that the number of prop blades, and also width/ length also affects thrust.

So would an engine set at 1000 HP consume more fuel than one at 500?

@AndrewGarrison I was doing just that when it hit me. Will post progress soon.

@reCarn they'd be floats, not integers, but this sounds like a great opportunity to do some science! setup some experiments and graph the fuel consumption vs horsepower.

I actually want more statistical data on this. I mean like how much fuel does specific engines consume per minute in game, on 100% throttle and the margin by which prop and car engines consume fuel for every horsepower increments. In reality, these numbers should be tricky to find out but since it's all code, I assume there are integers, correct? @AndrewGarrison

Technically if you want to have a powerful engine, you need mkre fuel, because the higher horsepower engines has low Fuel Economy....
