I suppose he may be right about many things, but I would not consider Pummeler groundpounders, electromagnetic artillery, and antimatter munitions "sticks and stones". Okay, perhaps the Pummeler is simple enough to be classified with "sticks and stones".

Two superpowers have reared their heads high. On one side, is the Paternian Republic. On the other side, is the Teutonic Empire.

The Paternian Republic is a liberal, socialist, federal republic founded by refugees fleeing persecution. It values free expression and speech as much as science and technology. Its people, the East Paternians, are stocky characters whose generosity to guests is matched by their brutality in battle. Due to their longstanding tradition of equity to all, women and men are virtually indistinct when it comes to job opportunities, with women earning as much as men, and are represented in virtually all aspects in life. Children are raised collectively, an extension of the centuries-old traditions of the East Paternians. The Paternian Armed Forces have 5 million active service soldiers, with 10 million in reserve. Frequently fighting opponents that outnumber their own, their forces have regularly defeated much larger adversaries through skillful use of ground, aerial, naval, psychological, and electronic warfare.

The Teutonic Empire is a conservative, social Darwinist, absolute monarchy founded by Kaiser Frederick I. Like the Pilotmario Republic, they value science and technology. However, they believe that only the strongest is the most deserving of the planet, and that liberalism and democracy allow the weak to control the strong. As tall, muscular, and broad-shouldered characters, they believe that they are destined to conquer the Earth. With this philosophy, they believe that women, due to their smaller size and monthly periods, are inferior beings to be subservient to men. As a result, the only real occupations they can obtain are that of elementary school teaching and midwifery. The Imperial Teutonic Armed Forces have 90 million active service and 60 million in reserve. During their conquest of Karama and Renova, they have relied on maneuvering the largest number of forces into the weakest points in order to achieve breakthrough and encirclement.

Both nations are aware neither are able to defeat the other by themselves; the Paternians lack the manpower to accomplish this, and the Teutons know that they must contest the powerful Paternian Republican Navy, who have displayed their clear superiority to the large but underfunded Kaiserliche Teuton, as demonstrated in various skirmishes that left the best battleships of the Kaiserliche Teuton in tatters while the most powerful Paternian Navy cruisers virtually untouched. As a result, both sides have sought allies.

Nations such as the New Polish State (PolandballDoge), Condordia (GALM1), United Areas of Central and South America (ElGatorVolador), North Federation of Korea (PINK), Republic of Draz (jw1523), Snowstonian Republic (Gmanndo1000), Empire of Teompria (TemDesBur), Territory of Japan (MikuKat), Newhallian Federation (Thej611), QED (GluonicGaming), and the Asvillian Kingdom (EasternHorizon) have joined the forces of the Paternian Republic. They will be valuable allies no doubt, especially the North Federation of Korea, which the Paternian Republic has military, economic, political, and social ties with. They call themselves the Allied Powers.

However, the Teutonic Empire has not been idle. The State of Vardanas (Areonautics3), Lanzarrian Conglomerate (JakeTheDogg), Empire of Dache (EclipseRed), and Awwam (MasterMindIndustriesAndAviationCorporation) have declared their support to the Teutonic Empire. They call themselves the Central Powers.

A cataclysmic conflict of ideologies is about to begin.

The Paternians believe that free expression and speech is essential to bringing out the strengths of an individual for the benefit of the community.

The Teutons believe that only the most fit of humanity deserves the most, feeling that supporting less fit humans simply holds back the strong from attaining their potential.

The Paternian Republic sees the greatest gender and racial equality ever seen, where racism and sexism is almost unknown.

The average Teuton woman lives almost as a slave to her husband, treated as children both socially and legally, although moderate reforms have been made to improve this.

The Paternians do not believe in any restraints in war, and will target civilians in naval, air, and artillery strikes if need be.

The Teutons fight by a strict code which stipulates that civilians shall not be harmed, regardless of the need.

Who you will pick, is your choice. Both nations entered the Thunderdome that is war. Only one shall leave it alive.
