We all love SimplePlanes and the SimplePlanes website is very well designed but I couldn't help thinking, what if we had a mobile app? We all have phones or mobile devices of some sort so why not have a SimplePlanes social networking app right at our fingertips? I can't begin to describe how awesome something like that would be. I would no longer have to change my default browser every time I click the "download planes" button, no longer would I have to open my mobile browser to check my SimplePlanes notifications, the user interface could be tailored for us mobile users and the over all experience would be drastically improved.
I would greatly appreciate it if you upvote this post. I would like this to get out to as many people as possible and hear your thoughts on this idea.
@dogspit i am not sure but , maybe someone can make an application that allows you to log on simple planes.com with easier ui and buttons , but that maybe illegal i dont know :/
@FennVectorCWA yeah. It really sucks. Maybe if enough people request it though they might do it.

@dogspit no i am not sayin anything , i mean me , you and other players want this kind of application that push notifications , easier to use ........ But the Dev said there are no plans to do so :/
@FennVectorCWA lol I actually saw that. Your post was well put. But the fact that I posted on an identical topic without knowing anybody else had already done so just proves our need for an app
It is hard access sub-tabs like my airplanes or to check notifications if you dont ve read all of them
I said that like 3 months ago , but ill wait and see
@AndrewGarrison ah okay. It would be very awesome though
@dogspit Unfortunately there are no plans to make a mobile version of the website. That would be an enormous effort.
@AndrewGarrison what do you think man?
Yeah
@Somberbask @Somberbask well I sure as hell wouldn't mind paying $0.99 for it. Coding a social app is much easier then coding a whole aircraft building game! It would just be a simple app based heavily off the website but improved for mobile.
A good alternative idea would be to open a simpleplanes chat on Kik, or some easily available app that would not require any sort of moderation or development...
@dogspit but what's being presented would not be worthwhile for the devs, there's no way for them to be repaid for hosting and coding an app like is described....
@MasterMindIndustries @Mox @MasterMindIndustries yeah that is my. Poimt.. Having an alternative and easily accessible mobile version of this site where things are specifically tailored for mobile users or pc users who want notifications sent to they're phone. those opposing this idea don't seem to understand it. I don't want the site to die I just want an alternate and easy way to get to the site.
yes this is great. but it shouldn't replace the PC Site. it should be like steams mobile app. basically a client for the desktop site
I mean, yes and no. The app would be for mobile users, and yet some PC players don't have a mobile device. It wouldn't work out like you think, specifically due to that little issue.
Uuuummmmmm...... No
I agree with this idea. Getting notifications right from an app would be a lot easier.
@joeysellers @BroPlanes I mean an alternative app for SimplePlanes mobile users. I don't mean killing the site all together why would I want that? No it is just that this site isn't amazingly mobile friendly. It would be nice to be able to get notifications right on my phone rather then having to go to the SimplePlanes website and log in. It would be great to just open a mobile app and see what planes are trending and be able to directly download them from an app other then a browser.
While it would be cool, I don't think it would be worth the time
I think we should have an individual website for simpleplanes and a mobile app for both steam/cog users and mobile users.
@joeysellers no, I believe he means making a companion app to the website that is similar to the sp website however is tailored to us mobile users.
@BroPlanes
@DanAviation it will be easier to do all things than the website
