Since my kindle broke, but I still want to be active in the community, I have made my own journal entry of a Finnish tank commander. The journal is translated from Finnish (since he is obviously Finnish). If you want me to continue this sort of thing, and from different perspectives, I can and will. Enjoy!

Wright-Howards Internment Camp, Near Aberdeen, England
Entry #1
Today we pushed forward towards Glasgow in an effort to push back the Allies. While there were only 5 divisions sent to complete this offensive move, we have dealt with worse up in Norway, where the Canadians launched an attack. And here I thought they were peaceful. Anyhow, today, while en route to Edinsberg, we were ambushed by American forces. Driven by their country's "Independence Day," they fought hard. I was the only survivor after they threw multiple anti tank grenades at our German-made E-75. I escaped with a punctured lung and a broken leg, but the Americans caught me and took me prisoner. Usually we, as wounded soldiers, would be executed, but due to my status as a commander, I was sent to a POW camp. To be honest, the Americans treat us with respect, giving us small luxuries, like better rations and a thin mattress, that are not available to the other inmates. I've healed up nicely and I even traded 5 German marks for this "Hershey" bar, which is American chocolate, or so I heard. Not as good as Swiss chocolate, but beggars can't be choosers. Anyhow, I want to return home, back to my wife and my two sons in Otava. I miss them very much, but this war rages on like an angry bear. I only joined to fight off the USSR, to defend my country, but not like this. So I plan to escape, not only from this camp, but also the horrors that this war has brought upon the whole world. I will head towards the coast, somehow make a raft, and sail towards friendly territory. But maybe I could sneak back to London? No. Too many Germans waiting to send me back to war. For now I will ponder my options as I watch my fellow inmates sit and wait for their fate in this bloody war...

Addition: I have now made friends with a Scottish deserter, who tells me jokes and gossip around the camp in Finnish, which he had to learn as part of his training. I taught him some things as well, so maybe we will be able to teach it to many inmates to communicate without the Americans or British understanding.
