How do you upload/set a plane to be the successor of another plane?

You have to download it, and you can't change the cockpit. Make edits, and voila
So if you upload a plane and have a different version of the same plane youd have to download your plane and then change it and re-upload it?
Just download plane edit it and share, that's how it will be successor ^L^
