Is it possible to mod/change the acceleration rate of the jet engines so that they produce power and stop producing power at a rate similar to the VTOL engine? The VTOL engine feels like an on/off switch in terms of power. The second you accelerate you feel the power of the thrust right away, where as with the other engines there's a lag time in the engine acceleration power.

I really want to make planes that use jet engines for VTOL, however the lag time between the jet engines and the VTOL engines really makes creating a smooth hovering/take-off difficult. I often need to use both types of engines in order to get the thrust balance (aka 'center of thrust') just right.
