So I've found three different tracking devices and solutions, each has their pro's and con's though. Here they are:

1. Realiteer's Real Trigger 1 and 2
   The Real Triggers are probably the simplest and most inexpensive one I found. It is similar to Google Cardboard in the way that it's diy and made similarly. It uses a augmented reality method to tracking.

2. RevolVR
   This one has a diy option but, is mostly not diy friendly. The tracking for this is done using light. They are working on a more fully fledged product but, it has an alpha version and the "lightsaber"(diy option).

3. VicoVR
   This one is the coolest in my opinion. It tracks your entire body. It's similar to the Kinect but uses Bluetooth(or wifi) to connect to any android device with 4.0 or higher. It is really quite cool.

Two of these have and sdk out for the public to add to games.
