We admitted we were losing tactically, though we regained the initiative and retook Korea and South Africa.
We are winning strategically. We aim to frustrate your commanders in their inability to achieve total and crushing ability, our forces able to strike when they are weakest, and when reinforced to be stronger, disappear. An enemy lurking in their very own shadows. No soldier, regardless of all factors, can face an such an enemy for long. They either become discouraged, unwilling to fight a ghost, or become desperate and leave a path of destruction through innocent civilians in an attempt to kill a ghost.
Your generals are lying to you if they say their soldiers are resolute against this.
Your disregard of our men is your downfall. What you perceive is cowardice is really a deliberate tactic.
We know if we were to immediately commit to a conventional war, we would be annihilated. But if we commit to wearing down your army with constant hit and run tactics, our regular forces will have a much easier time. And it's working.
The men are turning against the officers that insist on pursuing an enemy that always seems to be one step ahead. Other officers, afraid to follow them, have ceased patrols. The less capable begin to crumble in the face of indiscipline that follows boredom. The will to continue is slowly falling apart, the shooting of dissenters slowing down the inevitable.
Demoralizing them further is the fact there are Muslims in our army who have repeatedly shown their willingness to die to defend their homes against invaders. One such unit was the 112th Chinese Light Infantry, also known as the Kansu Braves.
Hailing from Western China, these Chinese Muslims were notable for their performance in the Boxer Rebellion. With the determination to defend their Emperor from the invading Western forces, they stood their ground. Although clothed in traditional uniforms, they were armed with the latest Western repeating rifles. Such was their effectiveness in battle that Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany went to the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire to see if there was anything in the Koran that could make them lay down their arms (there wasn't). Nonetheless, the Kansu Braves were ultimately defeated due to overwhelming numbers of imperialist troops.
Later, during the Chinese Civil War, Chinese Muslims under General Ma were effective in combat.
The 112th Chinese Light Infantry follow this legacy. And in Korea, your forces were frightened by the presence of
